Overview
This trip starts in Nuuk, the capital and largest city of Greenland, located on its South West coast 64 deg 10′ N.
The city is located in the heart of the Nuuk Fjord, which happens to be one of the most interesting ski touring and ski mountaineering destinations in Arctic. As the weather conditions at this time of the year can be quite challenging from the sailing point of view, ski-sailing activities are very exclusive.
The only way to reach the most exciting skiing slopes in that part of the world is by boats.
Nuuk Fjord offers many skiing possibilities from steep couloirs to nice slopes all the way to the beach. We will find some summits in between 1000m and 1600m.
It is the perfect combination and playground in between sailing and mountaineering.
There are good flights connections with Air Greenland and Air Iceland from Nuuk.
Depending on weather and sea conditions, each voyage of this adventure will vary.
This outing is suitable for people of all ages and varying interests.
