Overview
This trip to our favorite area in the West Fjords is a dream come true for curious and adventurous explorers. Depending on weather and sea conditions, each voyage of this adventure will vary. Trip starts at 18:30 at the harbor of Ísafjörður.
The itinerary may include coming ashore on the island of Vigur, where thousands of birds come to breed during the summer, visiting Iceland’s only windmill, stopping by Viktoria House, the oldest house on the island, sailing to the abandoned settlement of Hesteyri, hiking to the enchanting Hornvik Bay, the kingdom of the Arctic Fox, walking the ruins of an old whaling station, observing the remains of multiple shipwrecks, and more.
Beauty and adventure abound in this magical place – from towering cliffs and spectacular mountain views, to lush wildflower valleys and beautiful sandy beaches. This outing is suitable for people of all ages and varying interests.

Accommodations
is a fully equipped Dutch-built sailing yacht certified to circumnavigate the globe with up to 12 guests. The hull shape is modelled after a remarkable Colin Archer design known for excellent sailing characteristics.
Her comfortable deckhouse makes sailing in northern waters very pleasant. With four guest cabins (two four-person and two two-person), a spacious saloon and galley, and private crew quarters, there is ample space on-board.
The boat offers central heating, hot and cold water, two heads (toilets), one shower, and 220V electricity capable of charging batteries and other electronic devices.
While sailing vessels are fairly simple and utilitarian by nature, Arktika has been outfitted to ensure comfortable accommodations and spacious communal areas for our guests. Onboard amenities include central heating, hot and cold water, two bathrooms, a shower, and electricity for charging electronic devices.
